Safeguarding Children and Young People

Safe Guarding 1As one of its major activities Purley United Reformed Church (Purley URC) seeks to serve the needs of children and young people promoting holistic development.

In doing so, Purley URC takes seriously the welfare of all children young people who come onto its premises or who are involved in its activities.

Purley URC aims to ensure that they are welcomed into a safe, caring, Christian environment with a happy and friendly atmosphere.

Purley URC has written guidelines relating to safe guarding/child protection and all adults are required to have an enhanced criminal record disclosure when working with children and young people. Our policy statement for safeguarding children and adults at risk document is show below.

The Church’s two safe guarding officers are: – Jill Berry and Martin Miller. They are responsible for taking further action in the event of an allegation of child abuse. For advice they can be contacted on 020 8681 2990 & 020 8686 1100.
