Christmas Services and Events at Purley United Reformed Church.
Our Advent Course is held on Thursday mornings from 10am to 11.15am in the lounge from 27 November 2025. The theme is To Live Again and film clips from the film It’s a Wonderful Life are used to aid informal discussions. All are wecome to attend, any or all the sessions.
Our Gift Service on 7 December 2025 is a time when donations of new toys can be brought together to be passed to Croydon Council Social Services for distribution to others who would otherwise be without this Christmas.
Our Carols and Readings Service follows the Christmas Story in the bible and includes all the traditional Carols you would expect.
The Christingles Service is for all ages on Christmas Eve as we approuch the coming of Christ.
Christmas Day has a very special meaning – please join us as we gather together to celebrate the birth of Jesus.
As we begin a new year we celebrate in our service on 4 January 2026, the arrival of the Megi – the Three Kings who bring gifts so Gold, (a symbol of kingship and wealth reconnising Jesus as King; Frankincense (a fragrant resin used in worship and prayer, singifing Jesus’ divinity and role as Priest; and Myrrh (a spice used in anointing and burial, foreshadowing Jesus’ suffering and death).
