Christmas Projects for 2021 – Churches Together in Purley and Kenley

PURLEY & KENLEY CHURCHES TOGETHER will again be supporting the local community at Christmas.   Last year’s delivery of vouchers, in place of the Christmas Lunch on Jesus hampers, was very well received and, due to the current uncertain circumstances, we will once again be giving Aldi supermarket vouchers to 100 local families so that they can purchase the ingredients for a Christmas meal.  The vouchers cannot be used for alcohol, the lottery or tobacco and are intended for those who may not be able to afford a traditional Christmas meal.  Accompanying the vouchers will be some booklets with a Christian message.

We will not be running the ‘Toys for Joy’ scheme this year but will be fundraising for local children’s centres.  Please note that we will not be collecting toys.

We are looking to raise £7, 500 for these projects so if you would like to contribute you can donate online at www.give.net/20333146 and specify ‘Christmas Projects’ in the reference box.  If you prefer to send a cheque please make this payable to ‘Purley Food Hub’ and write ‘Christmas Projects’ on the reverse.  Send to Joanna Walker, Treasurer, Purley Food Hub, c/o Purley Baptist Church, Banstead Road, CR8 3EA.

If you would like to help deliver the vouchers to clients in December or if you have any questions please contact Jean Ludlow on 07546 635295 or email [email protected].
